Quick take:

  • Cosmology offers a tech suite that enables developers to build Web3 apps in the Cosmos ecosystem.
  • The company plans to use the fresh capital to support the growth of Interchain and revamp its tech suite.

Cosmology has completed a $5 million seed round co-led by Galileo and Lemniscap. The fundraising also attracted participation from Dispersion, Hashkey, Tuesday Capital, the Osmosis Foundation, Chorus One, and Informal Systems, with Kevin Lin, Zaki Manian, Leland Lee, Greg Osuri, and Ethan Beard joining as angel investors.

Cosmology’s partnership with Interchain Stack enables it to support over 2,000 developers in the Cosmos ecosystem. The company provides a tech suite that allows developers to build Web3 apps without requiring deep technical blockchain knowledge.

According to the announcement, Cosmology plans to use the fresh capital to support the growth of Interchain and build more tools for developers. Some of the notable Web3 applications built using Cosmology’s tech suite include dYdX, Osmosis, and Celestia.

“Our mission is to empower a broad range of developers, driving innovation and the shift from Web2 to Web3,” Dan Lynch, the founder of Cosmology, wrote in a blog post. “We achieve this by lowering the barriers for builders to swiftly turn their ideas into launched applications, focusing on big-picture concepts rather than the low-level technical details of blockchain.”

According to Cosmology, its developer tools, have been downloaded more than 5 million times. One of its tools Telescope generates easy-to-use TypeScript libraries for developers to access the functionality of Cosmos blockchains, while Cosmos Kit is a universal wallet adapter that enables developers to quickly launch apps that easily interact with Cosmos blockchains and wallets.

Initially developed to build front-end tools, Cosmology’s team has evolved over the past year to include experts in key technologies like Tendermint, Cosmos SDK, and IBC Protocol.

“This expansion is giving Cosmology extra bandwidth to support developers from design to deployment, covering everything from user interface design all the way to blockchain and smart contract tooling,” Lynch wrote.
